AC/DC release their music on iTunes

Rock band AC/DC has released their music on Apple music store iTunes.

They had previously voiced strong opposition to the digital service.

Until now its members maintained their songs should not be made available for individual download because they were all integral parts of various albums.

But the Australian band's 16 studio albums, four live albums and three compilations, which have sold more than 150 million physical copies worldwide, are now available in the iTunes store.

Teenager launches top-selling news app

A smartphone app which provides summaries of news stories soared to number nine in Apple's app store just two hours after its release in the US.

The app, called Summly, was designed by 17-year-old Londoner Nick D'Aloisio, and has received more than $1m in funding from investors.

High-profile supporters include Stephen Fry, Tech City CEO Joanna Shields and Newscorp owner Rupert Murdoch.

UK looks to young innovators to fight cyber crime

The UK is to offer around 100 18-year-olds training in advanced IT skills to bolster the expertise of intelligence agencies in fighting cyber crime.

The scheme was announced by foreign secretary William Hague during a visit to Bletchley Park, home of the UK’s Second World War codebreakers and forerunner to communications intelligence agency GCHQ.

The recruitment drive was aimed at "the young innovators of this generation who will help keep our country safe in years to come”, he said.

Successful applicants will work mainly at GCHQ, but some will go on to work for security service MI5 or  intelligence agency MI6.

Hague said the task was “every bit as serious” as conventional war, according to the BBC.
